Air Force Jobs - Special Operations Weather Technician

A Special Operations Weather Technician or SOWT is much more than looking up the weather forecast.
More than 2 years of training goes into honing skills, using both computer systems as well as visually reading weather conditions in the field. Cultural training also takes place in order to converse with locals in more remote areas who rely on local knowledge to forecast weather.
The very nature of the Air Force's power comes from flying and so having an accurate reading of conditions is often crucial to the success of a mission.
