The song is inspired by the legend of Niko Pirosmani (1862-1918) an outstanding Georgian painter. One of Pirosmani's pictures presented a young woman and was signed as "Actress Margarita". It is known that Margarita was French dancer. She came to Georgia in 1905 and met Niko Pirosmani. He was so charmed with her beauty that he sold all of his property and bought all the flowers in the city. Huge carriages loaded to the top with flowers were delivered to Margarita's house - the whole street was filled with them. In the morning, Margarita, hearing noise coming from outside and feeling the incredible aroma that filled the air, approached the window with curiosity. In front of her was a carpet of flowers. Pirosmani made his way through the flowers to her house.
