When tested at an Electrify America DC fast-charging station, a Lucid Air Dream Edition went from a completely depleted state of zero percent to an 80 percent in 37 minutes, and then it took another 45 minutes to get from 80 percent to 100 percent. That difference is typical with DC fast charging, which slows down dramatically after 80 percent of refiling, independent of the car Model. Because of the quick charging, Lucid is capable of delivering more than 300 kW of maximum charging power. After 11 minutes, the battery pack of the Air had been re-charged to 50 kWh, which is just half the capacity of the Model S battery pack. In prior testing, the Model S took 15 minutes to achieve 50 kWh, while the Taycan took 23 minutes to attain the same level of efficiency. But does the air being fast imply that it is more expensive? When it comes to charging a Lucid air, how much does it cost on average? In addition, do charging losses increase the cost?
