Some friendly advices for first-time visitors to Florida Keys & Key West:

- always avoid the 122-mile road trip to Key West or anywhere in the Florida Keys during weekends or holiday long weekends, traffic is very heavy, stop and go, bumper to bumper, a normal 90-120 min road trip will last 3hrs to 4hrs plus lots of wasting money on gas,

- chose a sunny and calm day, aint easy to drive in Florida Keys during heavy rain or high winds,

- leave early, in this very video the road trip start time is 7:15am on a M-F work day,

- try to get gas in Florida City, gas in Florida Keys & Key West is more expensive than in Mainland Florida,

- feel free to drive fast but always put safety first, better late than never (in a hospital bed or even worse) to arrive at your Florida Keys final destination, Key West included,

- Monroe County Sherriff Dept police cruisers patrol the entire Florida Keys.
