Processing stocker steers
We process the first group of stocker steers to arrive. This includes vaccinating, deworming, implanting, castrating/banding, ear tagging, and ear notch sampling for BVD testing. We also discuss use of antibiotics in these calves, and we dive into the debate on growth hormone implants. Finally, we saddle up Ace to ride all the fences to check for any bad spots before turning the calves out on pasture. While checking fences, we also scout the pastures and see that our forages are just about ready for grazing.
