NVIDIA Object-Oriented Agents: Native Python Programming for AI
NVIDIA Object-Oriented Agents (NOOA) is a novel, model-agnostic framework that simplifies AI development by treating agents as standard Python objects. Instead of using complex domain-specific languages, the system utilizes native Python abstractions where methods act as tools, fields store state, and type annotations serve as rigid contracts. This architecture allows models to interact with live objects through pass-by-reference logic and perform actions by writing executable code within a CodeAct loop. By aligning agent capabilities with the high-quality code distribution found in training data, NOOA ensures immediate agent readiness and easier debugging for developers. Results across several benchmarks demonstrate that current large language models can effectively use this object-oriented interface to solve complex reasoning and engineering tasks. Through an integrated long-term memory subsystem, agents can also autonomously curate and retrieve persistent state to improve their performance over time.
