Crickets from the Amazon are responsible for the buzzing basic sound of "Sonic Bloom" - their chirping runs through the entire album like a hypnotic red thread. And if you listen carefully, you'll also hear shamans whistle - a genuine sound collage, recorded during an ayahuasca ceremony in the rainforest. This spherical, trance-like "background noise" is accompanied by orchestral bells, the sounds of a harmonica, synthesizer sounds, a theremin (a device that makes electromagnetic body fields audible), space echoes and various effect devices. The interplay with the plant sounds creates a mystical, almost surreal sound collage.

The basic essence of "Sonic Bloom", according to Sven Meyer, is to "make the beauty of life, which we all too often take for granted, visible, audible and experienceable and to create a connection to nature and thus to ourselves".

With "Sonic Bloom" KYMAT takes its listeners on a meditative sound voyage and on a journey between the worlds - between reality and dream. KYMAT is an interplay between chaos and order that expands the gates of perception. An invitation to slow down and an offer to be completely in the here and now.

You see what you hear and you hear what you see.

KYMAT is on hand to take this synaesthetic world of experience a step further and to unite aspects of science and research with artistic worlds of images and sounds as well as therapeutic and meditative elements in a wondrous way.

The Hamburg sound art project KYMAT is a total work of art, consisting of water-sound images, installations and live shows. The name is a hymn of praise to "cymatics" - a term coined by the Swiss Hans Jenny. The natural scientist explored the visualization of sounds and waves and observed how the world behaves under the influence of tone, sound and echo.

The pulsating heart of KYMAT is the same-named ingenious water sound installation, whose construction is quite simple: a camera films a small container filled with water. Meanwhile, "Dr. Meyer" creates magical sounds that set the water vibrating. Sound waves are translated into water waves and the water acts as a three-dimensional sculpture that transforms the sound into images. In this way sound becomes visible and tangible.
The result of this symbiosis of elements and frequencies are disturbingly aesthetic structures reminiscent of ice crystals, mandalas, cell divisions and organic original forms of life.
