Sown in autumn, crops like mustard work away through the cooler months, protecting your soil, feeding it, and improving its structure. Their roots help break up compacted ground, their leaves & roots shield from erosion, and when it’s time, you simply chop and drop, or dig them back in to return all that goodness to the earth.

It’s one of the simplest, most natural ways to build healthier, more resilient soil ready for spring planting.

Because the truth is, there’s no point putting energy into growing beautiful vegetables or flowers if the soil underneath can’t support them. Strong soil grows strong plants. Every time.

So instead of leaving your beds bare this winter, think of it as your garden’s reset season. A chance to restore, replenish, and get one step ahead for the months to come.
