Hey everyone, I’m Brent the middle man and I will skip my normal intro because this video is not the normally light-hearted fun I like to go for. I usually love doing my MCU updates, but this update is a definite bummer. As all of you have probably heard by now, actor Chadwick Boseman passed away yesterday after a 4-year battle with Colon Cancer. He was either 42 or 43, depending on which report you read. If he was 42, then that would be crazily ironic since he became famous for playing Jackie Robinson, who wore the number 42 when playing baseball, and the day Chadwick died was Jackie Robinson day. Obviously, Chadwick exploded into superstardom by landing the role of King T’Challa in Marvel’s Black Panther movie, well actually in Captain America’s Civil War first and then in the amazing Black Panther movie. I think we can all agree that he absolutely nailed the role and he simply cannot be replaced.
I assume now that his sister Shuri will take over as Queen of Wakanda and as a female Black Panther. There is precedent for this in the comics. I now wonder if Black Panther 2 will be delayed or if they knew enough about his illness to plan for this. It may sound a little harsh, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a multi-billion-dollar business, so they will definitely want to plan for any possible eventuality. But that kind of talk is for a later date.

Today we mourn a tremendous actor who was taken from us way, way too soon. Myself and my kids are devastated. I am 42 as well, that is why I named my channel the Middle Man, because I think of myself as middle aged. That means I hope to have another 42 years on this Earth. Chadwick should have had at least another 42 years and just like a lot of things that have happened so far in 2020, this one was a total shock and it will take a while to get over.

So Rest In Peace Mr. Boseman. We love your movies and your characters and you left a imprint on this life in just half a lifetime, that most of us will never have the chance to do in a full life.
