2 Moderate Senators Hold Key to the Senate Passing Infrastructure Bills | EWTN News Nightly

Disagreements within the Democratic party caused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to not bring the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill to the floor Thursday night, but she claims the vote will happen Friday night. Speaker Pelosi says "We're on a path to have something that I can say to my colleagues with integrity and certainty is the path we're on. And in terms of timing and the rest, I wish we had more time." Progressives still are unwilling to budge on passing a $1.2 trillion infrastructure deal until they get a guarantee that the much bigger $3.5 trillion social safety expansion is passed as well. Two moderate senators, Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin, are holding the key in the senate. Senator Manchin says he told President Biden he would agree to a $1.5 trillion deal, far below the $3.5 trillion proposed. Catholic Congressman French Hill says it is not just the massive amount of money that he does not agree with, but also the lack of pro-life policies, like the Hyde Amendment, that have been stripped from the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.
