I Was Working on 2 Freelance Projects at the Same Time (Day 5) #buildinpublic #developerjourney
Day 5 of my 100 Days Freelancing Journey.
While I was working on my ₹60,000 ERP project, another client from a startup called Himrahi reached out to me.
The startup was based in India (Himachal Pradesh), but the co-founder was from the Netherlands.
At that time I was completely focused on the ERP system, but I was also delaying this new client’s project.
So I had to make a decision — should I continue focusing on the ERP system which was taking months, or should I complete the Himrahi project first?
The Himrahi project involved:
• Converting their JavaScript codebase to TypeScript
• Writing documentation
• Fixing a major bug in the application
• Building some frontend features
Some parts were done quickly, but finding and fixing the bug took almost a week because the codebase was large.
Eventually I completed the project, but since I was working on two projects at the same time, something that could have taken 1 month ended up taking almost 2–3 months.
That’s when I realized an important freelancing lesson:
As a beginner, handling multiple projects at the same time can slow you down instead of making you faster.
This video is part of my 100 Days Freelancing Journey, where I’m documenting real experiences, mistakes, and lessons from building freelance projects.
Day 05 / 100.
