A Famous American Poker Legend Passed Away | Tributes are paid to the Godfather of Poker

Doyle Brunson, one of the most influential poker players of all time and twice world champion, died on may 14 at the age of 89. The cause of death was not announced. Known as ‘the Godfather of Poker,’ Brunson was a leading professional player for more than 50 years, wrote a number of books on the game and was a familiar face on programs such as High Stakes Poker and World Series of Poker. He was a Poker Hall of Fame in 1988 and a two-time World Series of Poker Main Event champion in 1976 and 1977. He won more than $6 million in live earnings during his career.
