My BMW warranty for Timing chain guide and oil pump drive chain is about to expire and I started hearing whining noise from the engine. I did research and found that BMW N20 and N26 engines that were built before sometime in 2014 have big problem with timing chain guide which can break and completely damage the engine. I decided to spend on diagnostic at BMW dealership and see how they are going to help me with this problem.
