Gear for Starting with Video

After a little over a year of making videos, I decided to put together a little “starter kit” for gear I would recommend for anyone getting started with video for their business (or just for fun).

Here’s the gear we cover in the video:

- Neewer LED Light(s): https://rightly.tv/neewerled
- Switchpod: https://rightly.tv/switchpod

Extras:

- ND Filter: https://rightly.tv/nd72
- Deadcat for Rode Mic: https://rightly.tv/deadcat

Setup:

- 90D: Set the mode to M
- 90D: 24FPS 4k, 60 shutter, Auto ISO
- Lighting: in front of you—avoid glare with glasses
- Lighting: be careful of large lighting behind you
- Lighting: biggest lighting source is in front of you
- Recording: look at the lens (not the screen)

Software Options:

- DaVinci Resolve (free version available): https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/
- Final Cut Pro (Mac only): https://www.apple.com/final-cut-pro/
