Zac lives in Chicago and grew up in the Midwest. "Growing up in this part of the world has given me a bit of a 'blue collar' approach to making art," he says. "I like the idea that working hard at something is worth as much or more than being gifted at something."

In his three lessons for the upcoming 30 Faces/30 Days, Zac will share his process of creating three portraits in pencil, from start to finish.

"I love the simplicity of graphite pencil drawing," says Zac. "You don’t need a lot of time, space or expensive materials to get going."
