VLOG: Scoot commute on the 2007 Yamaha C3 scooter

It's a slow Sunday morning, but I have to work today... no rest for the weary. I decided to dust off the 2007 Yamaha C3 (XF50) scooter for today's commute. This is a long, slow commute, so skip to the end of the description for clickable time indexes.

I haven't taken the C3 out in a while, so I decided that Sunday traffic should be slow enough to let me putt around town today. I wring the C3's little neck today (as usual) to get from point A to B, and it performs its duty without a whimper. It's hard to make a case for 50cc scooters in Houston (or Texas) because they struggle to keep up with the flow of traffic. However, if you don't have long distances to travel and stick to slower surface streets, they can be a fun, economical way to get around.

I tried using the C3 as a daily commuter for a few weeks just to see if it was feasible. It can be done, but its limitations are too numerous for Houston's fast, crazy traffic conditions. I still keep the C3 around for grocery runs and exercises in the ridiculous... like moto-scamping and just to see the expressions on people's faces when they see this little "cooler on wheels". 😉
