Anne Shelton - 50 Years in Show Business -1990
Anne Shelton recalls Fifty Years In Show Business in a programme first broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on 20th November 1990, and repeated on 30th December 1990, when this recording was originally captured on cassette tape.
This programme originally ran to almost one hour, but due to restrictions placed by those claiming copyright on five recordings she played, I have had to edit them out, otherwise you would not be able to hear any of the programme. The recordings concerned were Percy Faith's "I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face", Glen Miller's "In The Mood", Johnny Ray's "Somebody Stole My Gal", Bing Crosby's "Lazy" and Anne's own recordings of "My Yiddishe Momme" and "I Get So Lonely".
In fact Anne made her first recordings in 1936 under her own name, Pat Sibley, with Jack Hylton's Orchestra, so her 50 years was really at least 54 years.
