Combining youth and mature musical abilities, Moonstar 88 was able to get hold of the teenage crowd. As proof, Moonstar 88’s “Torete” is now a favorite and one of the most requested songs by youngsters.

“Torete” deals with one of the problems of teenage life – falling in love. It is about being madly in love and confused at the same time. It tells about the willingness to sacrifice, to love from a distance, and to be with someone without expecting love in return.

Moonstar 88 is composed of Acel (lead vocals) Herbert (guitars), Paolo (bass) and William (drums). And why the name Moonstar 88? The band says it is the number “88” in their long list of possible band name.

“Torete”, the carrier single from Moonstar 88’s debut album “Popcorn”, released under Alpha Music Philippines is also the theme song of the Judy Ann Santos/ Wowie De Guzman romantic movie “Luv Txt”.
