Medical evidence required if you've been medically discharged

If you have been medically discharged from the military and are eligible to receive VA benefits, you will need to file a claim with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). It is important to understand that filing a claim for medical discharge can be an involved process and there are specific requirements that must be met in order for your claim to be approved.

The first step is gathering all the necessary documentation that proves your eligibility for VA benefits. This includes: any applicable medical records, service treatment records, disability evaluation reports, and statements from doctors or therapists who treated you after discharge. You may also need discharge documents if they haven’t already been provided by the Department of Defense. Once you have gathered this information, you can begin the process of filing a your VA claim.
