Steyr AUG reloading methods for A1, A2, A3, M1, USR, NATO

Check out my channel for other Steyr AUG videos. Left handed operation is covered in another video. This one covers a few methods of reloading the Steyr AUG. I use these names because they resemble operations of other weapons. I know its just watching a bunch of boring reloads, and why would you need to reload if you use a 42 round mag anyway...I digress.

I generally think the AUG reloads faster if you use a "beer can grip" and you grab your full mag BEFORE pulling the empty one from the gun. I hear people say "I don't like the AUG (or bullpups in general) because they are slow to reload." It just comes down to different operations. Most have only AR-15 experience (or CoD expertise) and no experience on HK platforms, AKs, M1-A/Mini-14, STG-58/FALs, or other rifles that have unique manuals of arms or "paddle" style mag releases. An AR shooter may transition better to a SCAR or ACR that has more similarities to the AR. AUGs are not AR-15s, just like there are operations a Remington 870 shooter must learn for the Mossberg 590 or a Benelli M1 vs a Remington 1187. The operator must practice the movements associated with that weapon to become proficient. Go with what works for you, but I wouldn't say that bullpups are slow to reload.

The failure to eject was not planned, and extremely rare. I left it in the video to show an non-planned malfunction clearance. Pistol is a Steyr M9-A1. AUG mag pouch by Gladius Holsters LLC. The "pinging noise" on the green AUG is a 51T Blackout. Suppressor is AAC M4-2000.
