This is the haunting legend of Númenor, the Star Kingdom gifted to Men. But the Dúnedain, blessed with long life, grew to resent their mortality. Corrupted by the whispers of a captured Sauron, their final king, Ar-Pharazôn, dared to break the Ban of the Valar, sailing a great armada against the Undying Lands to seize eternal life by force. In that moment, Eru Ilúvatar himself reshaped the world, and the great island vanished beneath the waves forever.
