PSD2: The Golden Age for FinTech StartUps

In 1994, Bill Gates made a statement, “banking is necessary, banks are not.” This statement might have seemed like a day-dream back then however, in 2019, it doesn’t seem to be a far-fetched thought. Banks are not likely to own customers anymore as PSD2 is opening doors for FinTech companies to not only have access to customer data but will also allow them to build services on top of banking. Soon enough, for customers, banking services will connect with a customer’s life and no longer be just an experience.

PSD2 opens door for Fintechs and introduces two new types of players:
AISP (Account Information Service Providers)
PISP (Payment Initiation Service Providers)
