Stalking the Atlantic, bringing instant death to merchantmen and warship alike, the U-Boats challenged the Royal Navy's traditional supremacy of the oceans, threatening to cut Britain's vital supply lines and starve her into submission.

Using rare archive footage, much of which was previously unavailable in the West since World War II, this program examines the U-Boat war that the Allies and Nazi Germany fought for mastery of the Atlantic. Also included is a special program on the use of submarines by the Japanese Navy in the attack on Pearl Harbor.
