Iguazu falls swells after Brazilian rainfall | VOA News
Iguazu Falls, which borders Brazil and Argentina, is roaring even stronger, after intense rains in southern Brazil saw its load swell.
According to local media, the downpour of the falls is three times the usual rate, from 1.5 to 3.6 million liters of water per second.
The increase was caused by the rains along the Iguazu River, which flows into the Iguazu National Park, where the falls sit.
The storms have caused floods that destroyed bridges and buildings, turning streets into rivers and leaving more than 163,000 displaced in Rio Grande do Sul, which borders Uruguay and Argentina. According to the state civil defense authority, 128 people are still missing. #Brazil #Flood #reels #videography #voanews
