Don and his wife Pat would marry in 1953 how little did they know what they would mean to the world of drag racing for generations to come.
Starting off on abandoned air strips from WWII Don would race several cars before building the Famous Swamp Rat. SR1 would launch Big Daddy's career by making him the first professional Drag Racer ever!
he would set countless records 176, 180, 200, 240,250,and 270 mph!
his ultimate innovation would change Drag racing forever that being the Rear engine Dragster. Winning the 1971 NHRA Winternationals would place him in the record books forever.
18 months later the slingshot Dragster would be a thing of the past in Top Fuel Racing.
