Though Christmas came, everyone seemed busy. Mom longed for a warm gathering but wasn’t sure if decorating was worth it. Still, she returned home, quietly setting everything up. When I came back, the house was cheerfully decorated. Just the two of us at first, but the warmth was real. Then my sister arrived, followed by Dad. A quiet reunion turned into a joyful Christmas. For Mom, that was all she ever wanted—togetherness, even as we grow older.
