Greek Island Extremes

In this episode we enjoy a vigorous sail from just north of Leros to the tiny, quaint, simple island of Agathonisi. Here we participate in the day-to-day life of the small number of residents that call this lovely slice of land home. We use the opportunity of being on their uncrowded town dock to repair a leak in our dinghy. Once the repair is complete, we sail almost due north to the much larger and more active island of Samos, which lies less than a mile off of Turkey at the closest points of land. Samos is very mountainous and much of the beauty and experience is contained in and around the inland villages. This leads us to take a harrowing driving tour up and down the steep hillsides to find the famous Samos bee houses, the popular sweet muscat wine and the huge pine forests. We hope you enjoy the vast extremes presented by these two incredible Greek islands.
