DESCRIPTION:
The NY28 is a 1.3” screen, 360*360px high resolution smartwatch with GPS Positioning, Barometer, Altimeter, and Compass Functions making it a true outdoor adventurer’s watch. Using a hidden backdoor switch in the tethering app, you can turn this watch into a true “always-on” device (but you’ll take a big hit to battery life). The GPS is quick to connect and more accurate than I’ve seen on other watches and most phones! It works well with the Google map from within the app and supports satellite image mode, which is rare to find for a smartwatch. This is now my go-to watch for outdoor GPS tracking.

Here are some real world battery tests:

Screen always-on, brightness highest, GPS off: After 7 hrs 0 min, battery level at 15%
Screen always-on, brightness lowest, GPS off: After 13 hrs 0 min, battery level at 10%

Screen always-on, brightness highest, GPS on in cycling mode: After 4 hrs 0 min, battery level at 40%
Screen always-on, brightness highest, GPS on in cycling mode: After 5 hrs 15 min, battery level at 10%

Screen always-off, brightness lowest, GPS on in cycling mode: After 6 hrs 40 min, battery level at 58%
Screen always-off, brightness lowest, GPS on in cycling mode: After 9 hrs 0 min, battery level at 20%

Charging from 5% to full takes 100 min or approx 1% per minute.
