Making a Square Alder Dining Table With Intersecting "X" Base.

This is a 60 inch square dining table made from solid Alder.
The base is made from two X shapes, one of which has a section removed so that the second one can pass through it.

The tablesaw sled that I make in this video is to cut the 84.4 degree angle for the half laps in the X legs.
This is not a very convienient angle but when I designed this table I knew that I wanted the footprint of the base to be 35 inches square. I also needed the final tabletop height to be 30 inches.
With these to figures fixed, the angle came out to 84.4 degrees.

I generally dont like to stain wood but my customer wanted a deep brown color so this wood was stained with Minwax "Espresso" stain.

As always, Thanks for watching.
