Practice Notes 43 | Organizing Complex Chords
Sometimes I breakdown dense chords in pieces in various ways in order to learn them and remember them more easily. This process is both in line with music theory concepts, but in general much more pianistic in general. I tried to add visualization with color combination -- hopefully it makes sense!!
*NOTE: In this video, I make the mistake of using Roman Numeral Analysis symbols (such as 6 for first inversion) with named chords. Sorry for the confusion!
The music is by Messiaen - from his Vingt Regards - X. Regard de l'Esprit de joie.
