HOW TO DOP A GEMSTONE | COLD DOP METHOD

In this video, jeweler Nolan Sponsler teaches you how to dop a Malkhan Tourmaline. Nolan prefers to use the Cold Dop method with high end gem stones like tourmalines to prevent the stone from cracking. He also explains the difference between an Elongated dop, a V dop, and a Cone dop. He finally shows how to have the stone stick to the dop by using Loctite and quick setting glue. Then, you're ready to facet your gem stone!
