In the late 1930s, while filming Jesse James in Missouri, Hollywood actor Tyrone Power had a brief relationship with a local woman. Unbeknownst to him at the time, she gave birth to a son and placed the child for adoption. Power discovered this years later and spent much of the 1940s attempting to locate his son. He hired private investigators and reportedly spent a significant amount of money on the search, but was never able to find his son.
