Suspended across three floors, Ngā Tai o te Ao Mārama invites visitors to explore the interconnected world of fungi through cascading chains, shifting light, and vibrant colour.

Entering the building through the Victoria Street tomokanga, visitors encounter Ngā Tai o te Ao Mārama suspended in the open space above them. Spanning three floors, the work evokes the layered structures of fungi and a network that shapes our natural world.

Thousands of chain links form cascading shapes that drop from the ceiling. Though each link hangs independently, they move together as one responsive form, animated by the airflow passing through the wind lobby. This shared movement mirrors the interconnected world the work represents.
