Thanjavur Villagers Protest Over Lack of Buses | Students & Workers Demand Action | News9

In Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur district, villagers from Vannarappettai, Sivagampuram, Ettukkara, and Rettipalayam launched a sudden road blockade protest demanding better public transport during peak hours.
The protest, held along the Ettukkara outer ring road, highlighted how only one bus operates between 9–10 a.m., leaving students and office-goers struggling to reach Thanjavur city. Protesters demanded immediate deployment of additional buses to the old bus stand.
The agitation was withdrawn after local officials promised quick intervention to improve rural connectivity.
