Tokwa't Baboy
Kainang Pinoy presents the famous Tokwa't Baboy Recipe using Pork Liempo for the pork meat. Vinegar is also replaced by calamansi juice for the sour ingredient. Enjoy watching at tara na pong kumain!!! See ingredients with measurements below (click "Show More").
Ingredients: 1 Pc (12 oz) Extra Firm Tofu (Tokwa) (Sliced into cubes or any desired shape), 1/2 Kg Pork Belly (Liempo) (Boiled for an Hour and Sliced into Bite Size), 4 Pcs Small Size Shallots (Sibuyas Tagalog) (Sliced), 3 Cloves Garlic (Minced), 2 Pcs Long Green Chilies (Siling Haba or Siling Pampaksiw) (Chopped), 3 Pcs Red Thai Chilies (Siling Labuyo) (Chopped), 2 Cups of Cooking Oil for Deep-Frying the Tofu
Boiling the Pork Belly: 8 Cups Water, 2 Pcs Dried Bay Leaves (Dahon ng Laurel), 1 Tbsp Salt, 1 Tsp Black Peppercorn (Pamintang Buo)
Tokwa't Baboy Sauce: 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce, 1/2 Cup Calamansi Juice (Squeezed from 10 Pcs Calamansi), 1/2 Cup Pork Broth (from Boiling the Pork Bellies), 4 Tbsp Brown Sugar
