Things I Wish I Knew About Pregnancy & Labour
Bonus scene: Meet Sarah and Shei's brother!!!
Sarah and her sister, Shei, discuss expectations and reality about pregnancy and labour. They wish they knew about the following:
1. Baby bump only became apparent towards the later half of pregnancy
2. Pantyliners become a necessity due to bladder leaks & discharge
3. Nerve issues, like "pins and needles" occur often
4. Everything unattractive becomes your new normal, like body odour, flatulence, swelling, etc.
5. Most medications are contraindicated during and even after pregnancy, especially while breastfeeding
6. Shaving and waxing your privates are not important
7. During labour, push as hard as you can without holding back
8. Labour pain is not the worst pain of your life
9. Expect delivering not just the baby, but also the placenta
10. Self-control is better than trying to regain control after losing it, especially during labour
11. Expect the unexpected, and be flexible about your birth plan
12. Contractions continue even after delivery
13. Expect to have trouble urinating and passing stools after delivery
14. Best part of labour is when the staff sigh out a big ”Awwww" as soon as baby is out, and when baby is placed on your chest
