⚠️ Extra Important Notes & Observations:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🔴 Many people without the right tools or experience have damaged their PSP motherboard while attempting this, often ripping traces or knocking off components when attempting to remove the super capacitor.

🔴 Based on what I’ve seen (and personally tested), PSP Slim models with weird charging issues may have a damaged or aging charging chip, a bad solder joint, or simply faulty charging logic.

🟡 In some rare cases where the PSP refuses to power on, reconnecting the super capacitor lead (after it was taped off), by temporarily bridging it with foil or soldering it back, seems to bring the system back to life.

It’s still unclear if this is due to user error or a failing charging IC that’s stuck in the wrong state.

🔴Some PSP units with power or charging issues, even with the super capacitor fully removed, may need to sit without any power (no battery or charging cable) for a period of time before they start working again.

This could take an hour, overnight, or even a full day before the system begins accepting power or turns on normally, this is one part of why I think its a faulty charging chip.

But this is with varying levels of success, it can stop accepting power and or turning on again after a while.

Sometimes it can keep working even tho it stops charging, when kept in sleep mode.

🔴 There’s no documentation about this issue anywhere. I’m currently testing and investigating ways to revive these units reliably.

Your input helps a lot with ongoing testing and understanding of this issue.
