Der Himmel Voller Geig´n, Walzer, Op. 34 - Carl Michael Ziehrer

"The Sky is full of Violins". Ziehrer based this waltz on Viennese folk melodies which reflected his sentiments for Vienna's folk traditions. The introduction is followed by the first of five waltz melodies that admirably typified the old Imperial Vienna of the 19th century. The waltz was first performed at a charity concert in Vienna's flowers hall for the horticultural society on 15 February 1865.
