LIVE This Morning: Iran FM Araghchi Says Strait Of Hormuz Open For All Nations | US-Iran Ceasefire

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on X that the Strait of Hormuz remains fully open to all commercial ships during the ongoing Israel-Lebanon ceasefire. This follows a fragile 10-day truce between Israel and Lebanon, though Hezbollah's stance remains unclear. Ships must follow routes set by Iran's Ports and Maritime Organisation.

The statement eased tensions from the US-Israel war on Iran, launched February 28 and claiming over 3,000 lives. Iran had previously blocked the strait, vital for 20% of global oil and LNG, prompting a US naval blockade of Iranian ports after failed talks in Pakistan.

US President Donald Trump confirmed the strait's openness on social media, noting Iran pledged never to close it again as a "weapon," while maintaining the US blockade until a deal ends the war. Oil prices plunged: Brent crude to $87.94/barrel (down 11.5%) and US crude to $83.33/barrel.

A top Iranian military source clarified that only non-military vessels, with IRGC Navy approval, can pass.
