The Murphy Aircraft Radical
The RADICAL is a very roomy two seat aircraft. Even the largest pilots will find they have plenty of head, leg and shoulder room. No need to be a contortionist to enter the RADICAL. The two large up swinging doors make it easy for even the less mobile to enter.

The Murphy Aircraft Radical Performance
You will not find another aircraft with the performance and usefulness of the Murphy Radical. Wheels, floats or skis, your adventure awaits.

The Murphy Aircraft Radical Design Philosphy
It has been designed and built to be a true rugged STOL bush aircraft incorporating the best ideas and design practices of all the Murphy aircraft. When Darryl Murphy and Dick Hiscocks (lead aeronautical design engineer of the dehaviland Beaver, Otter, Twin Otter, etc) started the design for the Murphy Rebel the utmost importance was placed on ruggedness and STOL performance.

The Murphy Aircraft Radical
Usefulness was also a high priority. Over the years this philosophy was continued in the designs of the Murphy Elite, Maverick and Super Rebel line of aircraft. The Radical design continues this philosophy.

Although tandem seat aircraft based on the original Piper Cub are very good performing aircraft, they do have a number of drawbacks. Many have reasonable useful load capabilities but when flying two up the space available for load carrying is very limited.

This is definitely not a problem with the RADICAL. The side by side seating leaves a cavernous space behind the seats available for load carrying. The space is so large two can sleep comfortably on the double floor. No longer will your flying partner have to sit in the trunk. With the side by side seating they will be able to sit up front where the action is with full access to controls and instruments.

The Murphy Aircraft Radical Construction
Like all Murphy high wing designs aluminum was again chosen for the RADICAL. The benefits of aluminum sheet are just too many ignore.
