Welcome back for yet another episode of this series “Political Islam” where we are discussing the immensely sensitive topic which is the status of women in Islam.
Al Fadi and Bill Warner introduce this segment in our series by beginning to unravel all the troubling verses found in the Islamic sources that portray women in a subjective manner. We also find out that this subjugation is not only found in the Quran but it is also found today. A
good example is that of the Sharia courts in the UK on its court decisions over women.
Is it possible that this is simply a contextual aspect of Islam that has been misinterpreted?
