How to Build a 550 Gallon Rainwater Harvesting System

In this video, I show you how to build an IBC Tote Rainwater Catchment System. This water harvesting system holds 550 gallons of water and can be upgraded to connect more totes. I will make a follow-up video showing how to add a pump to use the system for watering the garden, washing cars, and attaching to drip irrigation. Otherwise, you can add more pressure by raising the system higher off the ground.

This rainwater system contains THREE methods of rainwater filtration:

1. Leaf Eater- Self-cleaning filter that keeps out branches and leaves.
2. First Flush Diverter- Collects and isolates the first flush of dirty rainwater off the roof and keeps it from entering the tanks.
3. Nylon Filter- A fine mesh filter that traps finer particles and can easily be cleaned and replaced.

This system contains a 1 inch spigot for quickly filling up buckets as well as a 3/4'' garden hose faucet for attaching to a garden hose or pump that can be connected to an irrigation system.
