Giving Back to the PCT: Adopting a Desert Water Cache!

A PCT water cache that hikers depended on was about to shut down after the maintainer experienced an emergency situation. We couldn’t let that happen.

As backpackers ourselves — I've hiked more than 1,000 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail — we know firsthand what these caches mean out in the desert. So, we stepped in to adopt and maintain it as our way of paying back the trail community that’s helped us over the years.

We’re a husband-and-wife hiking team, and backpacking has been a huge part of our lives. I’ve maintained a personal streak of backpacking at least once every month since February 2016, never missing a month in over 10 years.

This video is about giving back, trail community, and keeping the spirit of trail angels alive for the next hikers coming through.

Thanks for watching and supporting the trail community.
