Hernando de Soto – Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research 2017

Hernando de Soto, founder of the think-tank Institute of Liberty and Democracy (ILD), in Lima, Peru, has been awarded the Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research 2017. The award was presented by Minister for Finance Magdalena Andersson in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 15, 2017. Hernando de Soto’s main message is that no nation can have a strong market economy without an adequate framework that records ownership of property. This can help elevating developing countries out of poverty.
