Marc Garneau, 1st Canadian in space, dead at 76 | Power & Politics

Former astronaut and Liberal cabinet minister Marc Garneau has died at the age of 76. A statement from his wife, Pam Garneau, said he died peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by his family. Garneau became the first Canadian to travel to space as part of a 1984 NASA mission.
