Transformers the Movie - Unicron dies

This is the ending to the 80s movie "Transformers the Movie" I don't know exactly what is going on, but it looks cool - don't it?

Hot Rod opens up a flickering disco ball that plays 80s music, and Unicron can't stand it so much he rips off his own leg and detonates himself.

Well really the Matrix is the spirit of Primus, so the comics say.
