Destination Wedding Advice - DJ's will assume All Americans love oldies!

I've done enough destination weddings to know that this was not just a coincidence at all of them. But for some reason, foreign DJ's at all of my destination weddings tend to automatically assume that Americans love oldies. So much so, that they will play them the entire reception! Now, I'm not an oldies fan personally, but I'm always up for a good "shout" amongst other favorites at weddings. But, when your entire playlist doesn't seem to make it past 1970, it presents a bit of a problem for your younger guests who just want to hit the club up and party! Plus, you are in a different country, with awesome history and music, so don't forget to be sure to rock to some reggae, and go ahead and spring for the mariachi band. Your wedding is already different than all of your friends back home because you chose to get married in Paradise, make it perfect by embracing and celebrating the culture of the country you are in!
