World’s oldest living male gorilla enjoys 60th birthday celebration
Ozzie, a western lowland gorilla at Zoo Atlanta, celebrated his 60th birthday on Father’s Day on June 20, 2021. Ozzie is the world’s oldest living male gorilla and is the oldest male gorilla on record, with more than 20 descendants – including children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren – living at Zoo Atlanta and at other AZA-accredited zoos in the U.S. and Canada. Created by the Gorilla Care Team, Ozzie’s “cake” featured multiple tiers packed with frozen fruits and frozen juice, topped by the numeral 60.
