Cell Phone Service in Mexico

We've been using our US Tmobile service in Mexico for 3 months. Today we're exploring Mexico cell phone service and cell plans in Mexico (Guadalajara).

Before deciding on AT&T or Telcel Mexico, we did a ton of research. It was also very helpful to get the input of our subscribers in which cell phone plans in Mexico were the best and why. What we learned is that AT&T is perhaps the best value, but Mexico cell phone coverage is much superior on Telcel, especially between cities.

Since we plan to do lots more driving through the country, getting a phone plan in Mexico with reliable and expansive coverage is a must. Before taking the plunge and switching carriers, we also wondered, how cheap are Mexican phone plans? In this video, we share what the various packages cost and how it all works.

Finally, we give you guys info on how to port your phone number out to Google Voice if you'd like to keep it. (In other words, how to keep your US phone number once you get Mexico cell phone service.)
