‘Incredible’: WA police officer describes moment Cleo Smith was found

WA Police Detective Sergeant Cameron Blaine has described the “incredible” moment Cleo Smith was found.

About 1am on Wednesday, a team of officers broke into a Carnarvon property on Tonkin Crescent where they found Cleo in a bedroom.

Asked about how he felt when finding Cleo, Mr Blaine said he felt “shock to start with”.

“Quickly followed by elation,” he said.

“It could have been any one of the team that were here, it just turned out that I was one of four guys that were fortunate enough to go through that door and make that rescue.”
